Among the first Indians to be invited by the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, Boston to do their  leadership course, Global Master of Arts Program (GMAP). Fletcher annually invite about 40 people, who they believe would play leadership role in future, for a year-long course over internet and in the campus. Among the classmates were a Deputy Prime Minister, several ambassadors, senior officials of international NGOs, senior corporate executives etc.
One of the two Indians to be part of a team of Asian analysts to study non-traditional security issues, under a fellowship in 2003-04 from the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Singapore.

 

Only journalist from India invited to the 2003 Summer Workshop on Defence and Technology held in Shanghai for young analysts from India, Pakistan and China. It was organized by Regional Centre for Strategic Studies, Colombo and Fudan University.
Was among the five Indian Defense Correspondents invited by the British government as a state guest in 2004.
In 2000, conducted one of the last extensive interview of a senior Kashmir militant commander, Abdul Majid Dar.

Has traveled extensively in US, China, UK, Singapore, Nepal, Europe etc..
