Indian Army will train Afghan National Army (ANA) in counter-insurgency operations. The decision was made during a meeting between the Afghan Defence Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak and his Indian counter-parts in New Dehli .

The Afghan Defence Minister is currently on an important trip to India to discuss enhancement of military cooperation with that country.

On Thursday, the minister paid a daylong visit to Srinagar-based 15 Corps of the Indian army where he was briefed on the counter-insurgency operations in occupied Kashmir, defence sources said.
