Wing Cdr. Rahul Monga

Wg Cdr Rahul Monga was born in Delhi on 08 Mar 1970. He had his initial schooling in Delhi. He joined NDA in 1986 and passed along with 76th course in 1989 as a science graduate. He did his initial flying training at BFTS, Allahabad and thereafter at Af Stn Bidar.

 
He was commissioned into the helicopter stream in 1990. He is a highly  experienced helicopter pilot and has 3400 hours of flying. He is a a type rated instructor and has extensive experience in aerosports with several national records to his credit.
 
 
 

He has had tenures in extreme high altitude regions in Ladakh and was a supervisor in a helicopter unit in his previous tenure. A keen adventure enthusiast, he is posted as a Joint Director (Adventure), Air HQ, New Delhi.

For the past three years, he has been planning a Round the World flight in a microlight aircraft. He finally managed to accomplish this this year, in the process setting a new world record. He has become the third person in the world to achieve this almost impossible task, and the first Indian. In fact, he has also become the first Indian to cross the Pacific and the Atlantic, solo, in any aircraft.

He is now planning other adventure activities.
